Di Korea Utara boleh tahu perempuan sudah kahwin ke belum melalui rambut

The South Korean Ministry of Unification has revealed the hairstyles on offer for North Korean women in a recent blog post on its website.

The series of photographs shows the role beauty and personal appearance play in the lives of North Korean women, highlighting the 'hot' hairstyles and and differentiation in hairstyles for unmarried women and married women.

Also, the women wear their hair in different ways when wearing the traditional hanbok, or Choson dress as it is known in North Korea, than when they wear Western-style clothes.

With the traditional dress, women opt for the straight stale or an updo. With Western-style clothing, they braid their hair, have loosely-permed hair and other various styles.

Unmarried women wear a ribbon braided into their hair or have their hair parted and braided into two plaits.

There is even an annual competition to recognise the best beauty salon in Pyongyang.
